Board Diversity

Few people would disagree that board diversity is better for business. However, one of the barriers to that diversity is how board directors are recruited. Many board roles are still filled through networks of board directors rather through professional searches and recruitment process.

According to research by the Financial Times, expanding the available pool of candidates and re-assessing the required skills and experience is a start. Firms must be more proactive in the way they fill their board roles if they’re going to stand by their commitment to diversity.

This is why we are launching the CAUFP Board Ready Directory, a list of Black professionals who are ready to serve and are eminently qualified to sit on public, crown, private, and not-for-profit Boards of Directors.
